What is Exceptional Customer Service?

Posted by Inclinator Co of California
· July 3, 2014

Customer is kingExceptional customer service is when a company exceeds a customer’s expectations. Ultimately people will tell others about the good experience they had with the company and more people will bring their business. Exceeding a customer’s expectation could be as little as a caring voice or prompt solutions to problems.

We pride ourselves on having exceptional customer service skills. Having personally worked customer service for nearly 30 years, i feel real sorry for any customer service rep that handles any issue that I have, as I know what to expect. Seriously, to my mind, exceptional means giving MORE than the customer expects (or in many cases deserves!) Read More →

The Invention of the Elevator

Posted by Inclinator Co of California
· June 3, 2014

invention-of-elevator-1The history of the elevator, if you define it as a platform that can move people and objects up and down, is actually a rather long one. Primitive elevators are known to have been in use in ancient Rome as far back as 336 B.C., with the first reference of one built by the talented Archimedes.

These early elevators were open cars rather than enclosed ones, and consisted of a platform with hoists that would enable the car to move vertically. The hoists were typically worked manually, either by people or animals, though sometimes water wheels were used. Romans continued to use these simple elevators for many years, usually to move water, building materials, or other heavy items from one place to another. Read More →

The “Nuts & Bolts” About Elevators

Posted by Inclinator Co of California
· June 3, 2014

nuts-bolts-1The idea of an elevator is incredibly simple — it’s just a compartment attached to a lifting system. Tie a piece of rope to a box, and you’ve got a basic elevator.

Of course, our modern passenger and freight elevators are a lot more sophisticated than this. They need advanced mechanical systems to handle the weight of the elevator car and its cargo. Additionally, they need control mechanisms so passengers can operate the elevator, and they need safety devices to keep everything running smoothly.

There are two major elevator designs in common use today: hydraulic elevators and roped (traction) elevators. Read More →

The Importance of Elevator Service

Posted by Inclinator Co of California
· May 7, 2014

the-importance-of-elevator-serviceWhether it be a residential or commercial application, every day many people depend on the safe and reliable operations of vertical transportation systems. It is of critical importance to the owners and ultimately to the tenants, guests or visitors who travel throughout residences and buildings each day. Deciding on a competent maintenance company is a complicated decision. Elevator maintenance can be provided by manufacturers, installation companies or Independents.

Today, many new elevators run on proprietary computer-based software that requires specialized tools for proper maintenance that only the manufacturer or company that installed the lift can provide. If your home or building has proprietary equipment you will have limited maintenance service options and generally will have to pay a premium for elevator maintenance. One advantage of using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) maintenance is the ability to provide spare parts quickly and reduce overall downtime for repairs. In addition, with OEM manufacturer maintenance you deal with the organization that designed the equipment and know it operating systems the best. Usually, manufacturer’s maintenance contracts are the most risk-free choice but you may pay a premium. Read More →

Machine Room-less Elevators

Posted by Inclinator Co of California
· May 7, 2014

machine-room-less-elevatorsMachine Room Less Elevators (usually shortened to as M.R.L. or MRL) are a type of traction elevator which do not have a machine room at the top of the hoistway.

The machine-room-less elevator is the result of technological advancements that often allow a significant reduction in the size of the electric motors used with traction equipment. These newly designed permanent magnet motors (PMM) allow the manufacturers to locate the machines in the hoistway overhead, thus eliminating the need for a machine room over the hoistway. This design has been utilized outside the USA for at least 15 years and is becoming the standard product for low to low-mid rise buildings. It was first introduced to the U.S. market by KONE. Product acceptance was initially slow in the U.S. market because of its initial, limited applications, its inability to meet U.S. code requirements, and the limited number of manufacturers offering an equivalent product. Wheelchair Lifts

Posted by Inclinator Co of California
· April 1, 2014

A wheelchair lift, also known as a platform lift, or vertical platform lift is a fully powered device designed to raise a wheelchair and its occupant in order to overcome a step or similar vertical barrier.

Wheelchair lifts have been one of the most significant advances in disabled mobility since the wheelchair itself was invented. They play a supporting role. Certain kinds extend the range handicapped people can move about directly, by transporting them across the stairs that would otherwise hinder them, or be impossible to navigate.

To safely and reliably lift both a person and the wheelchair he or she sits in, the lift must be quite powerful. Generally, these lifts consist of a platform that can be wheeled onto and a motor that raises the platform up or down to one or more different levels. Read More →
